How do I tell my mom to stop smoking weed?
She’s been smoking it since before I was born (i am now age 15). I’m really concerned cause she gets so mad and stressed out because of the smallest things! I really want her to stop, I don’t want her to get mad and feel stressed cause of this.
I really want her to realise that it’s really not good for her health, I don’t want anything bad happening to her in future.
Please help me
Have you ever tried telling her how much pain it courses you?….
If your like me when i was 15 and have trouble talking openly and honestly to you mum then you should try writing her a letter with all your feelings and sadness….be honest and don’t worry about writing things that may upset her.
I used to be a weed smoker and when my friends tried to help me to stop it just made me want to smoke even more…. she needs to understand that her habit is hurting you, then she may see it’s better for everyone if she stops… good luck sweetie… I hard a hard time with my mother when i was your age (my father wasn’t around) but things work out in the end… stay positive … i send you a big hug..

Where they pay for whatever you need to help you stop smoking?
If so, is it run within your state or does an out of state place take care of it? if it is out of state, Who is taking care of it?
i live in maryland and i don’t think they have any program like that. It would be a lot cheaper on the state and save a lot of lives if they did

How do I get boyfriend to stop smoking?
He smokes way too much, and I’m worried about his health. But I have no idea how I can talk to him about this. I don’t want to like say "stop smoking or else" But I want to help him, he’s already looking unhealthy.
Btw, we are both 16…not sur if that will help but if it does…well then there you go.
your boyfriend is going to have to stop smoking on his own it is something you cannot decide for him I know u are trying to watch out for him but its the way it goes. Try to look up people with emphysema and cancer on the internet
Should the NHS provide dieting groups in the same way they have stop smoking groups?
Obesity is one of the UK’s growing health problems but there is no nhs support in the form of diet clubs yet there are stop smoking clubs and support. We are obliged to pay organisations to help us in our efforts to lose weight. Shouldn’t the NHS provide help? I’m interested in other’s thoughts.
are obese people addicted to food? people who smoke sure are addicted to nicotine, makes sense that there are support groups and clubs. do they not have weight watchers in the UK? thats your best bet for a support group. personally, i don’t see how much support you need to put down the fork and get off your ass.

Cigarette smoke contains over 4,800 chemicals, 69 of which are known to cause cancer. Smoking is directly responsible for approximately 90 percent of lung cancer deaths and approximately 80-90 percent of COPD (emphysema and chronic bronchitis) deaths.2
About 8.6 million people in the U.S. have at least one serious illness caused by smoking. That means that for every person who dies of a smoking-related disease, there are 20 more people who suffer from at least one serious illness associated with smoking.3
Among current smokers, chronic lung disease accounts for 73 percent of smoking-related conditions. Even among smokers who have quit chronic lung disease accounts for 50 percent of smoking-related conditions.4
Smoking is also a major factor in coronary heart disease and stroke; may be causally related to malignancies in other parts of the body; and has been linked to a variety of other conditions and disorders, including slowed healing of wounds, infertility, and peptic ulcer disease. For the first time, the Surgeon General includes pneumonia in the list of diseases caused by smoking.5
Smoking in pregnancy accounts for an estimated 20 to 30 percent of low-birth weight babies, up to 14 percent of preterm deliveries, and some 10 percent of all infant deaths. Even apparently healthy, full-term babies of smokers have been found to be born with narrowed airways and curtailed lung function.6
Only about 30 percent of women who smoke stop smoking when they find out they are pregnant; the proportion of quitters is highest among married women and women with higher levels of education.7
Smoking during pregnancy declined in 2004 to 10.2 percent of women giving birth, down 42 percent from 1990.8
Neonatal health-care costs attributable to maternal smoking in the U.S. have been estimated at $366 million per year, or $704 per maternal smoker.9
Smoking by parents is also associated with a wide range of adverse effects in their children, including exacerbation of asthma, increased frequency of colds and ear infections, and sudden infant death syndrome. Secondhand smoke causes an estimated 150,000 to 300,000 cases of lower respiratory tract infections in children less than 18 months of age, resulting in 7,500 to 15,000 annual hospitalizations.10
